The sequel marks Cher's first onscreen film role since 2010's Burlesque and will see her reunited with Meryl Streep, whom she starred opposite in in 1983's Silkwood.

It's been reported that music icon, Cher, has joined the cast of Universals' upcoming sequel, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!

She will reportedly join Meryl Streep, Julia Walters, Christine Baranski, Amanda Seyfried, Dominic Cooper, Pierce Bronsan, Stellan Skarsgård and Colin Firth.

"WELL, I'M IN MOMMA MIA 2", she finally confirmed to a fan when quizzed about her involvement. It's not known what role she will play. It all began when she cryptically posted the lyrics to ABBA's "Fernando" and wrote, "Just went through two dance numbers".

Lily James, Alexa Davies, Jessica Keenan Wynn, Jeremy Irvine, Josh Dylan and Hugh Skinner will take on the younger versions of the original characters. She previously won an Academy Award for 1988's Moonstruck.
