Jack Wilshere is ready for England recall, says Wenger

"I see him more a player who can affect the game in the final third than a player who is a box-to-box player", Wenger said ahead of Thursday's Europa League game against Red Star Belgrade.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has backed Jack Wilshere to earn a place in Gareth Southgate's squad for England's upcoming friendlies. Wilshere's current deal expires next summer, and Wenger said at the start of the season that the injury-plagued player has to prove his fitness and consistency in order to get an extension.

Even though Wilshere is not yet a regular in the Premier League team, Wenger has backed the 25-year-old for a return to the worldwide fold this month, ahead of a push for England's squad for the 2018 World Cup.

Wenger also used the preview to tonight's match to urge Southgate to consider the long-term benefits of welcoming Wilshere back into the worldwide fold.

"I said many times that would be decided in December", he said when asked about Wilshere's contract. That means the likes of Mesut Özil, Alexandre Lacazette and Alexis Sánchez will not be used on Thursday as they prepare for the tough test against Premier League front runners Manchester City on Sunday.

"I wanted to give him six months not to think about that and see where we go". He's in a very good way.

"Personally, I think he's ready".

Although it has a natural component to it, glycyrrhizin may cause potassium levels to fall when too much of it is consumed. If you happened to be some kind of freak who actually likes black licorice , you can still eat it - just not too much.

"I must say I am pleased with the quality of our performances in every single competition", said Wenger. He was not three weeks ago but he is today.

"I can only repeat what I personally think: I don't know how you can keep a super-fit Jack out of the England squad", Wenger continued.

Wilshere has made himself a regular for Arsenal in the Carabao Cup and Europa League, a run he is likely to continue against Red Star Belgrade at the Emirates tomorrow evening.

"Even in training, when we play them against each other, it's very tight".

The boss added: "We are all very pleased for him here because he has gone through some very hard moments with setbacks".

'I manage him at the moment like every single player, ' the Frenchman said.
