Microsoft adds SAP as cloud partner in battle against Amazon

Microsoft announced that "Azure Location Based Services" will be launched in 2018 and will be available globally in more than 30 languages. The offering will allow both companies customers to run the SAP S/4HANA suite of enterprise resource planning applications on a secure and managed cloud.

Recently announced, Microsoft and leading application management software company SAP have partnered to give enterprise customers a cloud solution that is both expansive in flexibility as well as robust in product support.

Microsoft and SAP said they will jointly provide technical support for customers using the integrated offerings.

Microsoft will move the SAP applications it runs in its own data centers to SAP's cloud-based S/4 HANA products.

And this year SAP said that its customers could run its software on AWS, as well as Azure and Google's Cloud Platform in preview. He explained that it would allow SAP to spend less capital on Hana Enterprise Cloud with the load moving to Azure, and that these savings would likely be plowed back into its research-and-development efforts.
