UW's offense remained helpless to begin the third quarter.

It's the second time this season that a MI starting quarterback has been injured on the road, the first being redshirt junior Wilton Speight, who has played since being knocked out in the Purdue game.

Wisconsin hosts MI on Saturday in what could be another statement for the Badgers' College Football Playoff hopes. After a controversial call robbed Donovan Peoples-Jones of a touchdown catch, Brandon Peters made a major mistake on a fumble near the goal line, preserving a 7-0 lead for the Badgers. We need to get better at that.

In the second quarter, Peters found Peoples-Jones on a short pass in the end zone, but the play was ruled incomplete after his foot appeared to touch the white out-of-bounds line first.

Down 14-10, the Wolverines weren't out of it.

MI did end up tying the game on its next possession, and it added a field goal after an Alex Hornibrook interception in the middle of the third quarter.

Peters completed 9-of-18 passes, but didn't throw for a touchdown.

The Badgers recorded four first downs and ran just one play in MI territory during the first half, but they took a 7-0 lead on Nick Nelson's 50-yard punt return.

The Wisconsin rushing offense is formidable, especially with freshman Jonathan Taylor, who is averaging 7 yards per carry.

Late in the third quarter, Wisconsin redshirt junior linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel smoked Peters into the ground on third down.

After three straight games of dominating play on the ground, MI was shut down completely running the ball.

After redshirting a year, Hornibrook turned in a solid freshman campaign with 1,262 yards and nine touchdowns to seven interceptions.

O'Korn was 2-for-8 passing for 19 yards and no turnovers.

While Hornibrook's numbers against MI don't jump off the page, he came up with a couple of huge throws in key situations to lead the Badgers to a win.

Wisconsin, unlike MI, has been the poster child for consistency all year long.

Michigan, once with its own playoff aspirations for the year, finds itself playing to stay relevant in the Big Ten East among the likes of Ohio State, Michigan State and Penn State.

Prior to the injury, Saturday's contest was a step in the right direction for the true freshman against one of the best defenses in college football. Fifth-year senior John O'Korn wasn't able to get the team's offense back in rhythm while coming off the bench in the fourth quarter, and his receivers didn't provide him with much help.
