The director, Bryan Singer, lost his job on the upcoming biopic about the legendary rock band, Queen, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter on the 4th of December.

'This was a very taxing experience which ultimately took a serious toll on my own health.

"Bryan Singer is no longer the director of 'Bohemian Rhapsody, '" the studio said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

"While, at times, we did have creative differences on set, Rami and I successfully put those differences behind us and continued to work on the film together until just prior to Thanksgiving", Singer stated.

The director has reportedly been routinely tardy during filming, and went missing several times.

"Twentieth Century Fox Film has temporarily halted production on Bohemian Rhapsody due to the unexpected unavailability of Bryan Singer".

'House Of Cards' To Resume Production In 2018 Without Spacey
Spacey was "taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment" after allegations surfaced, according to a representative. The fate of House of Cards , the political drama starring Spacey as scheming politician Frank Underwood, was initially unclear.

Bohemian Rhapsody stars Rami Malek (Mr. Robot) as Freddie Mercury, the bisexual frontman of Queen who died from AIDS-related complications.

That prompted the studio to suspend production with three weeks of principal photography left before eventually firing Singer on Monday. Tom Hollander had also briefly quit the film, however he was later convinced to return. The director was reportedly warned by the studio prior to production beginning about his professionalism, but tensions eventually boiled over into a almost physical altercation between the director and the film's star that resulted in Singer allegedly throwing something.

Singer reportedly failed to return to the set after their Thanksgiving holiday break which resulted in the production suspension and now his termination by Fox. It's interesting that FOX elected to keep Singer on the film, considering other studios have simply terminated actors and producers for alleged misconduct.

According to insiders, Singer is claiming he is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder because of the tensions from the on-set drama. A new director is expected to be announced this week.

This might appear to be a shocking turn of events given Singer's good relationship with Fox where he previously shot the successful X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse back-to-back.
