Cold Temperatures Late This Week

Thursday is the day we can expect the white stuff to arrive. Rain amounts of around one-half inch are likely before it tapers off tomorrow night.

Wednesday temperatures remain steady in the mid 60s even with clouds and rain off and on all day. The weather will be damp, cold and raw during the afternoon and night.

Monday will be mostly sunny, with a high of 53. Rain will continue through Tuesday evening shifting mainly to east Alabama. Friday will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 40s. It is looking like Wednesday night will then be mostly clear with a low around 18 degrees. This doesn't look like a big storm, but may be disruptive as temperatures will be so cold at the surface that snow will likely stick. If the model is right, that could mean two brief periods of light snow or snow showers.

December is supposed to be a month where the weather gets active.

Monday is expected to be cool and windy with a high near 39 degrees and mostly sunny skies.

Officials at Fort White High School suspended Rodriguez, who coached the boys' soccer team at the north Florida school. The 17-year-old girl sneaked out of her home in Fort White on November 25, authorities said.

By the end of the week, the path of the upper-level wind will arc far to the north across Alaska and western Canada, swoop south through the Plains, and curve back north along the Eastern Seaboard.

Extended forecast Tuesday: Partly sunny with a high of 37 degrees and a low of 26 degrees.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: The AHSAA "Super Seven" state championship games are being played this year at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa Wednesday through Friday. Tuesday morning's low will "bottom out" within a few degrees of the season's normal temperatures in the upper 20s to mid 30s. For the night games, 30s are possible toward the fourth quarter.

Sunday continues the recent trend of above-average temperatures, though a system moving later in the day will push temperatures closer to seasonal averages starting Monday and continuing at least through mid-week. Highest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees with light westerly winds, gradually backing southerly.
