Joe Manchin and Vermont Sen.

The senator resigned earlier in December over mounting allegations of sexual misconduct, caving to overwhelming pressure from roughly two dozen Democratic colleagues in the Senate. Franken added he will continue to give a series of speeches before he leaves. That's hypocrisy at the highest level I've ever seen in my life. It just made me sick. "I know who I really am". I will live by whatever decision and I will walk away thinking about this opportunity I've had while I was here. As allegations continued to trickle out, though, his fellow Democratic senators pulled their support from Franken and urged him to resign.

"I definitely think he should not resign", Manchin said in the interview. Patrick Leahy - expressed regret this week for calling for Franken's ouster.

"I have stood for due process throughout my years as a prosecutor and in chairing the Judiciary Committee".

Other Senators are, for the moment, sticking by their guns.

Ofcom unveils new rules to help speed-up switching mobile phone providers
United Kingdom telecoms regulator Ofcom says many people end up staying with providers because of the hurdles of trying to switch. Companies desperately want to keep you, so if they believe they will lose you, you can often get much better deals.

However, keep in mind that the Senate Ethics Committee will take up Franken next year. "They bullied him into resigning and now he may un-resign having decided that he was bullied". And the only thing I'll ask for is expedite, put extra investigators, do whatever you have to, to go through this investigation, through the ethics.

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton (D.) has appointed Lt. Gov. Tina Smith (D.) to fill Franken's seat when he officially departs.

It's a ideal Christmas gift for conservatives: Senate Democrats beclowning themselves in defense of a professional clown who sits among them. Moore was defeated last week in a special election. They had anticipated the expulsion of Moore would lead to Democrat Congressional majorities and thus the nirvana of impeachment, the holy grail of Democrat politics at the moment.

Until Wednesday afternoon, Franken had not given a specific date for when he will resign.

Franken has been accused by multiple women of touching them inappropriately.
