Acer's Chromebook 11 brings USB-C charging to entry-level laptops

The Chromebook 14 G5, as the name suggests, has a 14-inch screen size that is configurable with up to HD Touch feature. There's also a MicroSD card reader for accessing and transferring content, two USB 3.0 ports and for wireless connectivity there are 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi wireless connectivity and Bluetooth.

The options to choose the specs are limited to just the processor and RAM capacity, other specs are as they are such as Intel HD Graphics 500, which comes integrated into both the Chromebooks. They are all driven by Intel Celeron processors. Then, Acer is bragging about the impressive 10-hour battery life, which is pretty decent considering the price point. At CES 2018, Acer is releasing two new versions of the laptop, the Chromebook 11 C311-8H and C311-8HT, a non-touch and touch version respectively. Notably, the Chromebook 11 boasts a fanless design, making it a quiet option for students. The official announcement states it comes in at 0.71 inches thin and only 2.43 pounds. This new Chromebook, which carries model number CB311-8HT/CB311-8H, is called the Acer Chromebook 11, and, going by its specifications, it falls right into the low to mid-range category. Actually, the OS is a full Linux distribution that is both extremely secure and easy to use. Certain intensive Android apps, like Asphalt 8, bogged the machine down at points, but I can't say that I was too surprised - funnily enough, the game actually failed to render when I loaded into a race. Many Chromebook customers store their files on Google Drive which protects files, documents, and photos safely in the cloud, and ensures that the most current version of the file or document is always available and safe, even if the Chromebook is lost or stolen.
