Acer's updated laptops include the thinnest computer in the world

However, with these cutoffs, Acer has compromised something that most users would prioritize over their laptop being a mm thinner - specifications. The new model, launching in March, will measure in at just 8.98 millimeters, therefore making it the world's thinnest laptop, according to the company.

The Spin 3 (SP314-51) starts at $599 and ships in February 2018.

On the display front, it features a 13.5-inch IPS display with 2256 x 1504 resolution and supports Windows Ink powered by Wacom EMR technology.

Given the Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB RAM on board, we're not yet convinced the alleged 10 hours of battery life per charge will ring true, based on what the laptop on show was projecting, but with so little chassis space there's not a huge amount of room for the battery cells. While I am desperately hoping that Acer has managed to integrate a 15W processor into this design, it seems likely to be using a Y-series part.

As with the inside specs, the Swift 7 comes with 8 GB LPDDR3 RAM and an SSD storage of 256 GB. Is it worth it? It works well, though we'd recommend getting the GTX 1050 Ti variant, if you can find it.

That said, the laptop does come with a feature that's still pretty rare for laptops even today: 4G LTE connectivity.

Legal rights NGO: Israel's BDS blacklist 'reminiscent of Apartheid South Africa'
The list, published by the Strategic Affairs Ministry, includes 20 BDS-linked organizations, majority from Europe and the US. As for Vilkomerson, who has family in Israel, the ban would be a "personal hardship".

The Swift 7, however, has the combination of an easy-to-carry laptop and the 4G LTE connectivity, which is still now very rare in the market. Originally, the Swift 7 was debuted with a thickness of 9.98mm. The CES stage was also leveraged to unveil the new, Blue-coloured Chromebook 11. With a price tag like that, it's kind of hard to see how someone could pick this over something like Dell's new XPS 13.

The laptop also comes with Acer Color Intelligence, a Corning Gorilla Glass NBT touchscreen and touchpad. "Featuring eighth-generation Intel Core processors, the device's screen has dropped to a 14" 1080p display.

In the red corner, a new AMD-Ryzen powered Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop. The 15.6-inch laptop comes with up to 32GB DDR 4 RAM and up to 512GB of SSD drive.

That slim design does make for some slightly odd-looking quirks, though. The new Acer Chromebook 11 (CB311-8HT / CB311-8H) offers an 11.6-inch display with two USB 3.1 Type C ports and support for Google Play.

The Acer Nitro 5 will be available in North America in April with prices starting at US$799; and in EMEA in April with prices starting at EUR1,099.
