So, now Apple has acquired the startup and now, the entire Buddybuild team will join their hands with the engineers in Xcode engineering group at Apple to "build unbelievable developer tools for the entire iOS community", with Buddybuild being rolled into Xcode itself. However, after the acquisition, the start-up would no longer offer Android and Free Starter services starting March 1.

Apple confirmed the acquisition directly to us, and the startup also noted the move in a blog post this afternoon.

The Canadian firm also made clear that its entire roster of talents will remain in Canada and that its core service "to build, test, and ship iOS apps to testers" will remain available to existing users.

Buddybuild, which and touts itself as a "continuous integration, continuous deployment, and user feedback platform" for app development, now helps developers to release iOS and Android apps using GitHub, GitLab, and BitBucket.

The private aircraft, a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan registered as TI-BEI, was part of Nature Air's fleet, officials said. He identified the pilot as Juan Manuel Retana and described him as very experienced.

Apple, whose iPhones have always been outstripped by devices powered by Google's Android in terms of market share, still generates considerably more revenue from apps than the latter. The noteworthy aspect of this development is how the startup was meant to make the work of developers much easier via testing and improvements.

The robust performance of the App Store bodes well for Apple's Services business. "Of the $17 billion generated in Q3 from apps globally (excluding China), Apple accounted for around $11 billion of it, according to App Annie", the report added.

Buddybuild was founded back in 2015 by two former Amazon employees named Dennis Pilarinos and Christopher Stott.

The Xcode engineering group absorbing Buddybuild will only make the iOS environment more developer-friendly and presumably make Apple steps ahead of Google. Since its establishment, the startup has managed to raise around $8.8 million.

Following the acquisition, the startup will be rolled into Xcode, Apple's suite of dev tools for iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS, although Apple and Buddybuild have not given a specific timeline of when that will happen.
