JDR announces that he will not be returning as head coach next year.

Jack Del Rio's run with the Raiders is over.

Prior to his role with Oakland, Del Rio had previously served as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2003-2011, where he was sacked in the middle of the year.

The Raiders had high expectations coming into the 2017 season after improving from 7-9 in Del Rio's first year to 12-4 in 2016 and the franchise's first playoff appearance in 14 years.

Bombing Attack Kills 41 In Kabul; ISIS Claims Responsibility
CNN reports nearly 100 people were at the cultural center at the time for the anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Afghan president Ashraf Ghani has called the attack on a Shiite Muslim cultural center in Kabul a "crime against humanity".

The foundation, apparently, crumbled in a matter of months.

This year did not go as well as they would've like, finishing with a 6-10 record on the season.

Davis' decision to part ways with Del Rio also gives credence to the "grumors" that began swirling on Saturday night that Davis wanted to bring Jon Gruden back to the organization. John Pagano, who was on the staff as assistant head coach-defense, took over as coordinator. The offense, including Derek Carr, performed poorly throughout the season.

"Today was kind of a microcosm of our season", Del Rio said after the Raiders' 30-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
