The images appeared on the Chinese social website Baidu, and they're said to show a new Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller model, one that hasn't been officially announced yet. The reports allege that the controller will include Bluetooth for easy connection to a PC, a USB-C wired connection, an Apple MagSafe-like charging connector to protect from cable pulls and a built-in, chargeable battery. Considering Microsoft has a patent for this technology, it is hardly surprising that the new Elite would have this. Take a look at the image (via Reddit user EDDS86) above to give the supposed new Xbox Elite controller an ogle.

Another image posted to Reddit appears to show the entire controller, with newly designed grip sections.

Microsoft's original Xbox Elite controller launched back in 2015 and while many balked at the £120 price tag, it still ended up selling very well.

We discuss what you can expect from Microsoft's new Xbox Elite Controller in Transition - Gadgets 360's gaming and pop culture podcast. The only question that remains is when exactly will Microsoft unveil this new version of the controller? Microsoft made a license in December regarding the flexible lock design of the thumbsticks. Another possible unveiling could be during the Game Developers Conference (GDC). Either way, it looks like fans of the original Xbox Elite Controller are in for a treat this year.

Finally, Microsoft will also be fixing one of the big issues with the original Elite controller- the new version will reportedly have a rechargable battery pack included right out of the box, removing the need to either use double A batteries or purchase a separate play and charge kit.
