Georgia Tech Head Coach Josh Pastner Accused of Sexual Assault in Lawsuit

Georgia Tech basketball coach Josh Pastner has had a sexual assault lawsuit filed against him, according to KOLD-TV in Arizona.

In a counterclaim filed in Arizona Thursday by Bell and his girlfriend, the two accuse Pastner of sexually assaulting her while Bell was in the shower.

Bell has publicly accused Pastner of breaking NCAA rules. She alleges Pastner attempted to force himself on her in the hotel room where she and Bell were staying during Pastern's time as the head coach of the Memphis basketball team.

Pastner filed a defamation suit a year ago, after Bell claimed Pastner asked Bell to pay illegal benefits to players. He has filed a defamation suit in response to those allegations and has denied the sexual assault allegations as well. However, he told the NCAA that Pastner wasn't fully truthful to the NCAA. He then threatened Pendley into silence, they said, by telling here he had connections who would make her life "a living hell" if she told anyone what he'd done.

This injury raises the question if the New York Knicks are going to give Kristaps the expected max contract extension this summer. Knicks All-Star big man Kristaps Porzingis tore his ACL after landing awkwardly in the second quarter against the Bucks at home.

Pastner flatly called the accusation "a lie". Josh never acted improperly with Ms. Pendley. She never told Bell about those incidents, either. For these reasons, he says, their families have turned against them in the case.

The statement goes on to claim that Pendley actually "continued to proactively and enthusiastically initiate communication and contact with Josh and his wife", even visiting Pastner and his wife's home. "My family and I are victims of fraud and extortion and the extent to which these individuals have gone to harm us is truly unfathomable. Upon learning of the allegations, I immediately informed law enforcement and officials at Georgia Tech".

Georgia Tech lost 77-54 to Louisville on Thursday to fall to 11-13 overall and 4-7 in the ACC.
