Major Walking Dead Star Boards ABC Pilot, Has No Season 9 Contract

Though Lauren Cohan's Maggie has grown into one of The Walking Dead's strongest characters, fans began to worry when it was reported earlier this month that Cohan has received multiple pilot offers from various networks, and could depart the show after season 8 when her contract expires.

Maggie's days on THE WALKING DEAD could indeed be numbered as series star Lauren Cohan has agreed to star in ABC's drama pilot WHISKEY CAVALIER, Tracking Board has confirmed. I hear there are no current negotiations with the cable network, but the production schedules of the zombie drama would not interfere with her duties on Whiskey Cavalier if the pilot is picked up to series. Cohan reportedly wanted her salary to be closer to her male co-stars, Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus, but AMC was unwilling to meet her demands.

It is understood that AMC offered Cohan a "modest" salary increase and a longer contract instead, which she rejected. After all, even The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman has moved from AMC to a two-year contract with Amazon, which will see him and his Skybound Entertainment company creating content exclusively for Amazon Prime Video. Or, alternatively, she could just walk away from it completely, given she'll have another show to work on. For starters, there's no guarantee that Whiskey Cavalier will be ordered to series.

He hit.303 with 45 homers and 104 RBIs previous year for Detroit and Arizona , which acquired him on July 18 for three prospects. The 32-year-old outfielder has a.263 average in eight seasons with Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Houston, Milwaukee and Detroit .

Written by Dave Hemingson (Kitchen Confidential, Don't Trust the B***** in Apartment 23), Whiskey Cavalier follows the adventures of Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Will Chase (Foley) who, after an emotional break-up, is paired with a quick and fearless Central Intelligence Agency operative named Frankie Trowbridge (Cohan).

The Walking Dead will return for the remainder of Season 8 beginning this Sunday, February 25. Cohan, as "Frankie" Trowbridge, will star alongside Scandal star Scott Foley's Will Chase.

The show is being written by Dave Hemingson.
