Nokia 8 Android 8.1 Oreo stable update now rolling out

As per the official changelog, as spotted by folks at AndroidPolice, the Android 8.1 Oreo update (version 4.84A) for the Nokia 8 includes battery saving navigation buttons, a revamped power menu, new settings menu, and Bluetooth battery percentage.

HMD Global Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas took to Twitter and revealed that the company has started to roll out Android Oreo 8.1 on Nokia 8. Nokia 9, going by the rumoured specifications, will be the most powerful smartphone made by HMD till date. It was launched last month in China, and, is expected to be announced for global markets later this month at MWC 2018, after which it should come to India.

Lastly, the Nokia 9, which is also called Nokia 8 Sirocco, is said to be a flagship smartphone from HMD Global for this year, and hence, should be powered by Qualcomm's latest and greatest Snapdragon 845 chip. From the previous leaks, it is said that the smartphone might have a metal frame and a polycarbonate build.

The Nokia 7 was launched barely three months ago. The recent reports have suggested that the Nokia 9 could be announced with the moniker Nokia 8 Sirocco.
