The 66-year-old has been charged with five counts of first-degree murder and police believe that number will rise as the investigation continues. Esen, Kinsman, Kayhan and Mahmudi were each reported missing at some point over the last eight years.

As a handful of people have gone missing over the last few years, the community has brought their concerns about those disappearances to law enforcement.

In August 2017, the Toronto police set up another task force, Project Prism, began in part due to the public outcry from the disappearances of two men- Andrew Kinsman and Salim Esen.

The source says when police broke down the door, they found the man handcuffed to McArthur's bed. One address was where McArthur kept his landscaping tools.

McArthur, 66, was arrested and charged January 18 in the presumed deaths of Selim Esen, 44, and 49-year-old Andrew Kinsman. Sgt. Hank Idsinga would not confirm what specific properties would be searched today but confirmed that the list of potential crimes scenes is growing.

Police said McArthur was in a relationship with one of his alleged victims, but have not provided information about any connections to the others, according to the Star.

"It certainly encompasses more than the gay community", Idsinga said at the press conference, according to The Washington Post.

"I've actually had some conversations with some citizens from the Church and Wellesley area, and they're feeling more of a sense of relief rather than fear", Idsinga said.

Police have identified more than 30 properties where McArthur worked and urged his past clients to come forward.

"We do believe there are more and I have no idea how many more there are going to be", Idsinga told a stunned a room of reporters and photographers at police headquarters.

All this gives McArthur the infamous title of serial killer. The two met while doing landscape work for a mutual friend. "He went above and beyond what our original agreement was to cut the grass".

Idsinga did not provide any details about a possible relationship between McArthur and any of the three new victims.

"He was like Santa Claus". They did not describe him as such until he was charged with the other three murders.

"I think the common thread in [Project] Houston is that all three men were from the Gay Village and associated to the Gay Village and they were all of Middle Eastern descent", Det.

The source said photos were found on McArthur's computer that helped investigators identify some of the victims. "It's an alleged serial killer". "If they find something buried in the backyard, that's a different feeling".
