The family managers/guardians also have the option to add extra game time via their smartphone or PC. In addition to that, the family manager/guardians can choose whether or not to automatically log the child out of their PS4 once their playtime is over.
That's on top of new Library tabs that make it easier to see which apps you've installed and own.
The "This PS4" tab will list all of the applications that are installed on your PS4 system, while a tab with your name/avatar will list all of the apps purchased with your PSN ID.
The second tab, PS Plus, only lists games you've acquired through the monthly PlayStation Plus offerings. However, users should note that certain games might not be enhanced by this new feature. You're now, finally, also able to hide apps in the Purchased section, such as expired betas and demos.
The quick menu now supports custom lists of friends and will also include new shortcuts such as pressing square to change the volume on music playing via Spotify, and background music is now supported by PlayStation Now. This change should serve to make it easier to figure out what you actually have on your system and available to play. Speaking of tunes, the next firmware upgrade will allow players to listen to background music of their choice when streaming games through PlayStation Now. As an added benefit, gamers can hit the "triangle" button to play and pause music entirely for the Media Player.
