Men lie women lie but Forbes doesn't...and according to their annual listing of billionaires Amazon Chief Executive Jeff Bezos has done it again in the world of the richest.

Forbes estimated Trump's total fortune at $3.1 billion, far from the over $10 billion he once claimed, but still enough to make him the richest president in US history.

There are now a record 2,208 billionaires in the world, Forbes counted, and their combined worth is US$9.1 trillion, up 18 per cent from a year ago. Gates was previously recorded with an estimated wealth of $86 billion on the same list past year.

Notably, he was valued at $86 billion on the 2017 list of world billionaires.
