Civil rights groups protest outside ICE building in San Francisco

Two days after Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf warned about impending ICE raids, immigration officials confirmed Tuesday they had detained 150 people, but said they were still searching for 864 others who avoided capture because of the mayor's "reckless" decision.

"What she did is no better than a gang lookout yelling police when a police cruiser comes to the neighborhood except she did it to entire community of the this is beyond the pale", Homan told Fox News.

"Sanctuary jurisdictions like San Francisco and Oakland shield unsafe criminal aliens from federal law enforcement at the expense of public safety", ICE Deputy Director Thomas Homan said in a written statement. "Her priorities are to the citizens of Oakland and to the legal residents not to criminals, and that's who she's protecting".

Federal immigration agents arrested more than 150 people in California in the days after Schaaf's warning of the raids, the agency announced on February 27.

The warning "was meant to give all residents time to learn their rights and know their legal options", she said in a statement Tuesday night reported in the San Francisco Chronicle.

ICE officials said in a statement they do not conduct raids that "target aliens indiscriminately, and the agency prioritizes public and national security threats, immigration fugitives and illegal re-entrants".

Even though half of the illegals caught in San Francisco and Oakland were illegals, Pelosi seized yet another opportunity to attack President Donald Trump for his tough-on-immigration policy in California that is focused on relieving the bankrupt state of its multi-billion-dollar economic burden and criminal problems caused by illegal immigration.

Schaaf sought again to defend her actions with an absurd and contradictory statement: "I do not regret sharing this information".

Schwab wrote that anyone who violates immigration laws may be subject to arrest, detention and deportation.

"ICE has previously chosen to share secret info with Schaaf when they were trying to spread a false story about child trafficking in West Oakland", Kaplan said.

According to USA Today's Christine Brennan it was the "worst collective US women's figure skating performance at an Olympics". On Thursday, Zagitova went first, greeted by chants and cheers from the Russian fans desperate for that first gold.

"She's on the threshold of obstruction of justice for doing what she did", Brass said.

Despite protests from the now sanctuary state, similar sweeps conducted throughout California in fiscal year 2017 netted more than 20,000 illegal immigrants.

Schaaf said she is concerned that this "has been used as a wedge issue and that this ugly myth that immigrants are criminals".

Last Saturday Schaaf released a statement warning of large-scale raids by immigration agents in the San Francisco Bay Area.

"The thing that's extraordinary is not that the mayor learned about this and did something", Ross said of Schaaf's announcement over the weekend.

"We have to fight against the racist myth that the Trump administration is trying to perpetuate, that immigrants are unsafe criminals".

Sanctuary policies differ from city to city but generally have provisions for cooperation with federal law enforcement in cases involving serious crimes.

Helena, who also goes by the name Elizabeth, posted a video on Facebook of ICE officers arresting her husband, with the caption: "Immigration is out this Sunday morning splitting hard working families apart".

However, authorities warns close to 1,000 criminal aliens may remain at large in the Bay area, arguing the mayor's leaks allowed many to escape detection.

Some ICE officials have said city officials, like Schaaf, should be held liable for their actions.
