He's best known for playing Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy, the first of which happened to be his first feature film.
The ceremony, held in front of the El Capitan Theater and livestreamed by Variety, was emceed by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president/CEO Leron Gubler, who welcomed guest speakers George Lucas and Harrison Ford.
It's not just Hamill's Star Wars colleagues who came to celebrate his Walk of Fame ceremony, but his fans also arrived in droves.
Ford, who has a star himself, joked, "There's a lot more people that showed up for my star".

Lucas also addressed the audience, praising the chemistry formed between Hamill, Ford and Fisher in the early days of the franchise.
"When thinking about today, I was really sorry that we don't have the other member of our trio here to celebrate with us", Ford said, to the cheers of the crowd. "I haven't been speechless since 'Force Awakens'".
"Star Wars is a big galaxy, and you can sort of find nearly anything you want to in Star Wars.", said J.J. Abrams, who is returning to helm Episode IX after directing The Force Awakens. "He changed my life forever in a way that still reverberates today". "I was looking for somebody that'd grown up on a farm, out in the middle of nowhere - very naive about what was going in the world, young, but enthusiastic. Thank you so much and may the Force be with each and every one of you", he said, signing off with his famous Joker cackle. "You are with me through thick and thin, in the highs and in the lows and everywhere in-between". Hamill then let out the creepy Joker laugh.
