The 14-time major champion remained in contention through the majority of the tournament with the type of steady play that has eluded him for several years.

Woods underwent further back surgery in 2017 and only returned from a year away from the PGA Tour at the Farmers Insurance Open in January.

The 42-year-old Woods made the announcement via Twitter, adding the Valspar tournament in Palm Harbor, Fla., to his schedule for the first time.

Woods also says he is playing the following week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, which he has won eight times.

After a 12th place finish at the Honda Classic, tons of bettors are putting money on Woods to win his fifth green jacket at Augusta National this April, and his odds have shot up to 16-to-1, according to Bovada. The final round is Sunday, March 11. He also missed the cut last month at Riviera.

He is believed to have stayed in a number of condos rented to tourists since arriving in Japan. According to the sources, the missing woman is in her 20s and works at a company in Osaka.

Woods, 42, showed more than a few glimpses of his vintage best at last week's Honda Classic where, despite playing on one of the most hard courses on the PGA Tour, he entered the weekend only four shots off the lead. "The more I play tournament golf, the better I'll get".

Tiger Woods showed some promising signs at the Honda Classic. That was the goal when I first came back.

"I need to keep building on it", Woods said.

"I told you guys at Torrey, (I'll) try and get everything situated for April and I feel like I'm right on track for that".

The Valspar Championship often gets overlooked in the Florida swing because it competes for players against the Honda Classic and Arnold Palmer Invitational, and previously a World Golf Championship at Doral.
