Cowboys acquired Tavon Austin from the Rams in exchange for the No. 192 overall pick in the 2018 National Football League draft.

After posting a career-high 58 receptions for 509 yards and three touchdowns in 2016, the 28-year old gadget player recorded just 13 catches for 47 yards under new Rams head coach Sean McVay last year.

From adding depth to the offensive line with players Joseph Noteboom and Brian Allen to from filling needs at linebacker with Micah Kiser, Los Angeles has plenty of reasons to be thrilled with their selections from this year's draft.

"I'm just the type of guy who wants the ball in my hands any type of way", Austin told ESPN.com's Alden Gonzalez in June. Austin has been an underachiever in five seasons out of West Virginia, but maybe a move to Jerry's World can recharge those batteries and lead to some fantasy value.

Austin has had 194 catches for 1,689 yards and 12 touchdowns in his career. Dallas drafted Michael Gallup in the third round Friday.

After seeing their top running back target Nyhiem Hines from N.C. State go off the board early in the fourth round to the Colts, Dallas obviously viewed Austin as a better pass catching back than any of the remaining potential draft picks.
