Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is proud of the way he has helped revitalise the club both on and off the pitch and hopes to complete the turnaround with promotion back to the Premier League.

Slavisa Jokanovic admits Fulham will need to make major investment in their promotion-winning team to ensure they survive in the Premier League next season.

Fulham are promoted to the Premier League after Tom Cairney's first half goal gave them a 1-0 Championship Play-Off Final victory over Aston Villa.

Snodgrass attempted a free-kick from a good spot but it could only go wide as Fulham inched closer to the Premier League.

The sun of last week's FA Cup final at Wembley managed to stick around for the cliched "richest game in English football" with the victor guaranteed around £100 million even if they finish bottom of the Premier League next season.

"I personally must be satisfied". Villa regardless created chances that superior teams would have taken, so Fulham could prove at risk by playing that same way in the Premier League.

He said: "I'll roll my sleeves up and get stuck into it again". "Now it's all about trying to reach that next level and, as players, we want to do the same". Second half we were much better, asked a few more questions of them, and we just needed a break but we didn't get it. And after seven season in the Championship, he said he was already looking forward to the next test.

Bruce was also critical of his team's poor first-half performance and of the officiating, adamant Ryan Fredericks should have been sent off for a challenge on Grealish who he felt Fulham targeted.

Ryan Sessegnon played his part for Fulham (Barrington Coombs/EMPICS).

Fred, 25, fits that bill, although he is used to playing a little deeper, while Grealish represents somebody who could grow into a role at Old Trafford in the years to come.

Grealish felt he should have had a penalty with three minutes of the five added on to go but Anthony Taylor was right to wave it away.

But 57-year-old Bruce said: "The feeling is utter disappointment for everybody".

For a team that froze on the final day of the regular Championship season, in turn forcing them into the play-offs, they displayed enormous steel, fight, and plenty of personality here.
