They will have to ask themselves is it worth trading all these assets for one-year of Kawhi Leonard? In fact, we are heavily counting out that possibility. That, or like most things - stuff happens.

In the report, ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst detail that the Spurs are looking for a better package than the Cavaliers and Pacers got for Kyrie Irving and Paul George prior to free agency previous year.

Kawhi Leonard has reached out to James, expressing interest in playing together, according to a report from Yahoo Sports' Jordan Schultz. Despite the absence of Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward, both young players led the Celtics to the Eastern Conference finals and forced a Game 7 against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. While reports have been circulating about Kawhi Leonard not wanting to step back into a Spurs locker room again, the organization still wished him a happy birthday. Some of the bad contracts handed out in 2016 (when the cap drastically increased thanks to the NBA's new TV deal) will start to come off the books next offseason. Leonard and the San Antonio Spurs are in the midst of a breakup following a season in which Kawhi played just nine games.
