Maurizio Sarri will speak with Chelsea officials this week about transfer targets, with the Blues hoping to beat Tottenham in the race to sign Wilfried Zaha.

And having lived in London since the age of four, it seems Zaha is desperate to remain in the capital, linking him with Chelsea and Tottenham.

Towsend joined Palace in the summer of 2016 in the wake of Newcastle's relegation and has regularly been linked with a return to the north east since the club's return to the top flight.

The club that have seemingly shown the most interest in Zaha in the past few months is Chelsea, who could be looking to bolster their attacking ranks in the final days of the transfer window.

Crystal Palace are reluctant to sell their star man so close to the deadline, however, and value Zaha at around £70million.

The Ivory Coast worldwide has attracted interest from Tottenham and Chelsea, with his contract till 2022.

The 25-year-old has already told team-mates he is set on leaving Selhurst Park and has already rejected the offer of a new contract worth €140,000-per week, reports claim.

The former Manchester United attacker finished the previous campaign with nine goals and five assists from 29 league appearances and has been in fine nick during the Eagles' pre-season campaign.

Chelsea have made just two signings so far this summer, bringing in midfielder Jorginho from Napoli, which was followed by the acquisition of veteran goalkeeper Robert Green.
